William Hodgson guilty of stealing 60 gold guineas, 2 japanned tea canisters (valued at 2/-), a Common Prayer Book (valued at 1/-), a papered cape (valued at 2d), a pair of silver tea tongs (valued at 5/-), 6 silver tea spoons (valued at 10/-), a linen tea towel (valued at 6d) and 3 cakes of Churchman’s Patent Chocolate (valued at 3/-) in the dwelling house of Thomas Gardner in the parish of Garstang on 10th December 1788.
